Modesty

Modesty is not a virtue,
Likely more to harm or hurt you.
If you rate yourself too low,
Modesty will make you so.
If your value is far higher,
Modesty makes you a liar.

Hi Aimee, I hope you dont mind me sharing another poem here on your site. Since you are inspiring us with this great blog. The one below is dedicated to one of the greatest poets of all times (in my mind), Rumi from Persia:

We close the lid
on memories bygone and those that never came
On days of yearning, on days of lore
thinking that it will remain closed for ever more.

And one day the lid is open again
and they come flushing out one by one
like an endless colourful parade,
and you stare at your life and wonder
what has it all come to?

But then the breeze caresses your face
You stretch, you breath
And the words of the great poet whisper
down to the deepest crevices of your soul
Your ears, your heart, the very tips of your being
shake with them, dance as they rumble from within

“Everything you ever did made sense,
Everything had a meaning…”
